Update of 2020 Finn Europeans
A conference call was held on March 23:
Polish Yachting Association, The City of Gdynia, National Finn Class Association and the International Finn Association – the Organizing Authorities of 2020 Open, U23 European Championship and 2020 Masters Europeans are clearly aware of existing, rapidly evolving international situation concerning coronavirus hazard. We are carefully monitoring the situation and closely follow worldwide and local health authorities recommendations.
The safety of participants including their good health is our top priority so the following precautions concerning the championships have been taken:
- The dates of the 2020 Masters and Open Europeans currently remain as scheduled but we will keep track of the changing circumstances.
- Any considerations shall follow IOC decisions concerning 2020 Summer Olympics.
- If left with no other choice, the Open Championships may be moved to August/September before, after, or together with the Masters Championships scheduled for 31 August – 05 September 2020.
- Gdynia remains the venue for all scheduled Championships.
- Further steps and decisions will be re-considered at the conference call to be held after Easter.
